    3. Hi Leslie, Thanks for the suggestion. I contacted the Anglican Archives in Ottawa and thought I would pass on their answer in case in might benefit someone else. "Technically, what was Marlborough Township (later part of Rideau Township, and today part of the City of Ottawa) lies within the boundaries of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, which takes in all land on the north side of the Rideau River. That said, I suspect you are going to find Anglican records covering Marlborough in both dioceses. This is partly because of the pattern of establishing early churches, with early significant parishes being at Kemptville (Diocese of Ontario) and at Richmond (Diocese of Ottawa), plus you find very early clergy at Prescott on the St Lawrence making early visits to Marlborough. Nowadays, even though there is a St Paul's Church, Marlborough and another, Christ Church, Burritt's Rapids, both technically located within the boundaries of what once was Marlborough Township, in what today is the Diocese of Ottawa, because they are missions of the larger parishes based at Kemptville and Merrickville in the Diocese of Ontario, their records go to the Diocese of Ontario. Records for Perth and Carleton Place are in our collection. I would recommend you pursue research in our archives first, since our parish registers are completely indexed up to 1960." I just have to arrange for a day to go to Ottawa. There are Moffatt's and Fannings both at the Anglican Church there in Carleton Place.
