    1. [CAN-ONT-CARLETON] Calling All Members of OGS Branches -- You Are Needed!
    2. Muriel Davidson
    3. To all -- Today, while snow kept me from visiting Sunnybrook and my husband, I spent the afternoon visiting Ontario Genealogical Societies. Some of the branches do not have internet sites -- but are listed by address and name. Information varied on the different sites, some need to be updated as the Expert Panel is "past history". I was checking for a link to Post-1901 census pages as I feel a link is often better and reaches more people than mail list postings. I even learned one branch was having a "Show and Tell" -- but NO link. One branch Waterloo OGS Branch added a very impressive link today -- you will have to check it to see the simplicity of it http://www.waterlooOGS.ca/ I had mentioned a one-liner sentence or Barney Kaufman's Canadian flag logo -- a tip of the hat to the webmaster!! You will like it. Two OGS members are trying to obtain release of Post-1901 or 1911 census records - Murray Calder, MP and Senator Lorna Milne. However, Murray's C-312 was declared Non-Votable by a committee so he will only have ONE hour of debate and NO vote. It would be nice to see him on CPAC waving a fistful of House of Commons petitions. Senator Lorna Milne belongs to two branches - her Bill S-12 is in Third Reading stage, has more debate then we hope a positive vote. After that it comes back to House of Commons for repeat performance. This is why -- if we want the 1911 census released -- we keep asking for groups such as OGS to sign both petitions -- NUMBERS COUNT IN OTTAWA -- scrutineers count the signatures, believe it or not! Let's surprise both Murray and Lorna -- they are working for us -- give them a TON of paper -- signatures on petitions!! Download and sign!! Muriel M.
