Hello All: What a nice way to start the new year, now if I could only find the key to my puzzle??? Charles James Ripley, from England, ( b. abt 1831, lived in Ottawa, married Johanna Lovering from Coldwater, Ont. They had 8 children Charles, Emma, Thomas, William, Albert, Maud (the only other one I have information on) m. a Carson who ran a paint and decorating busness in Ottawa, 3 daughters (unmarried) & one son Tom who took over his father's busness. Henry, Mable (my grandmother). He apparently worked for a logging company, possible Booth Logging, I also read the company records were destroyed with the owners death so if you know otherwise I'm all ears. Unfortunately I have yet to determine when he arrived and from where in England.
