Archibald Porteous family - originally from near Richmond 1850-60's and later moved on to Carleton Place John Porteous family - originally Gloucester and Nepean 1830-40's later moved up to Renfrew Co near Beachburg. James and Mary Wilson - originally from Fitzroy 1840's and later moved up to Ross and Westmeath in Renfrew. St. Jacques/Jacques family 1880's - Gatineau Vallieres family 1880's - Gatineau Pierre Tellier/L'Italien 1890's - Ottawa William and wife Bella Smith 1860's - Gouldbourn Many other families in the neighbouring Counties of Lanark and Renfrew include All Saunders - Beckwith Twp Lanark, Alice Twp. Renfrew Lewis - Beckwith and Montague Twp Lanark, Alice Twp. Renfrew Edwards - Beckwith Twp Lanark, Alice Twp. Renfrew Ferguson - Montague Twp Lanark but originally from Dalhousie 1820-40's, Allard family 1820's onward- Pembroke,Pontiac Upper Ottawa Valley Demers family 1800's- Pembroke,Pontiac Upper Ottawa Valley Lafance family 1800's- Pembroke,Pontiac Upper Ottawa Valley There are many others that married in to these families that I have some knowledge of. I would be happy to let anyone know if I have anything on their ancestors, especially if they have any significant ties to the Beckwith/Montague areas of Lanark, or of the Allard family in Pembroke/Pontiac area.
