DELANEY, Thomas b abt 1806 in Ireland. possibly Kilkeney Married to a woman named Mary, b abt 1820. Her last name and their parents unknown. They left Ireland between 1841 and 1845, with 3 children: Catherine, abt 1839 and twins Edward and Thomas, b abt 1841. Settled in Nepean Twp, Carleton County. Catherine married Charles W. HARRISON November 10, 1873 in Ottawa City. Had at least 4 more children in Canada: John, b abt 1846 John married Theresa FULFORD, July 27, 1882 at Alymer, or Alymer Road, Bytown. He was killed at Frog Lake, NWT, now Sask in April 1885 (2nd Riel Rebellion/Uprising). James DELANEY, b abt 1847. These ages and location based on 1851 census. Other children are Mary Ellen DELANEY, married O'BRIEN and lived in Bay City MI. and an unknown daughter who became a nun -- possibly a Dominican and family story says went to India. In chapter 5, in the section on Gloucester, p 211, of The Carleton Saga, by Walker, H and O: the DELANEY family had a homestead on the Renaud Road. That implies they moved between 1851 and 1885, but I don't know -- it may be that the area was divided into additional towns and townships. Looking to fill in lots of gaps, and any information these names/families greatly appreciated. thanks, Alexsandra -- Alexsandra K. Stewart Pancultural Associates, Inc.
