Hi Joanne, I know of a book called "Beyond Our Memory: A History of Fitzroy Township" & I know there is one about Torbolton Twp. too, but it's name escapes me right now. I have looked at them both in the Arnprior Library. Hi Joanne and others: When I started my search of Carleton County...it was suggested that I check the book "Carleton Saga" by Harry Walker. I was able to find a copy for sale at www.abebooks.com at a reasonable price. (I just checked and there are many still available in many parts of the world). I purchased it and I must say that it is one of the best purchases that I have made! Even if you do not find 'your family' when you read it, you will have a wonderful overview of lives of the original settlers of Carleton County. The book, at least, will clarify for you the history of each township of Carleton. If you do not want to purchase the book, perhaps you can check local libraries for copies. Hope this helps.
