Hello again folks :) I am trying to find trace my ggf's family in the Ottawa area. Martin Trewhitt, his wife Florence Nightingale, and three very young girls Alice, Agnes & Lillian arrived in Canada 1908-1909? through Halifax, Nova Scotia, from a starting destination of Dover, Kent, England. While I was at the Archives of Ontario this summer, I did look at the National Archives of Canada (NAC) microfilm for the Port of Halifax 1908 passenger lists, called T-4734. There is also available for the Port of Halifax, early 1909 passenger lists, a microfilm called T-503. Is there anyone on the list that could tell me if there is a finding aid for either of those microfilms at the NAC in Ottawa, to help me locate the actual passenger records on those two particular microfilms? Perhaps on the list here, there is someone from the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO). I understand the BIFHSGO has been researching Home Children in cooperation with the National Archives, and might be more familiar with the contents of those microfilms. I can order the microfilms to Hamilton here, to study in more detail. But I already have spent hours in Toronto, reading the film and seeing only tons of Home Children info, and not finding any passenger lists info. I am hoping for some kind of shortcut to make my search easier if possible. Thanks so much for any help offered. Marilyn Zavadiuk Back up my hard drive?
