William R. is my g grandfather. He was born April 14, 1831. It is my belief that he first married Hannah Adwen Raine in 1860. His parents on the entry are given as James Johnson and Margaret Johnson (note no "t" in Johnson) , but the age is 26, rather than 30. I think it is him but am not 100% sure. Hannah died on January 28, 1871 and an infant son died in 1871, supposedly at age of 10 days. However, I wonder if the age is 100 days, as I found the birth of James Henry Raine Johnston, Oct 2, 1870, with parents William and Hannah Adevin. I know there was a James and Jane Raine living in the same area at that time, and Hannah who married William Johnston is their daughter, so think that Adevin is incorrect. As for James Henry , if he died 10 days into 1871, he would be 100 days old. I know for sure that he married my g grandmother Jane Russell Spence, but not sure when. I think it was later in 1871, possibly Sept. as Walter was born June 1872. Can anyone find this second marriage in particular? Or tell me more about the first marriage. One clue might be that I know that William had a daughter Velinda E. (Belinda) from his first marriage so if her birth was found (about 1863), it might have the mother's name. Velinda is with William and Jane Russell on a later census in Manitoba and she is only 9 years younger than Jane so cannot be her biological daughter. Same with a son William born about 1870.
