Hi Marg, I now have Velinda Johnston's date of birth which is Nov.6, 1863. Still don't have any information about her parents, but I am paying an archivist from St.Andrew's Presbyterian church in Carleton Co. to find out as much as she can in 2 hr. That's the maximum that is allowed. Velinda is on the list, but there are a lot of other names as well such as confirmation of William's siblings and step-siblings. I must say that on Velinda's marriage certificate (which I don't yet have) her name was spelled Johnstone. Some of the earlier records for James Johnston are spelled as Johnstone as well. That made me wonder if his family came from Scotland prior to Ireland. Bit by bit.
