    3. Hello, I am looking for more information on how I would be able to look at Police Court records from 1919. My great grandfather Edward Desormeaux was working on tearing down the "old" Creighton Street Public School in Ottawa, or at least I assume it was Ottawa as an article appeared in the Ottawa Journal on May 17, 1919 telling of the court case that followed. Anyways while working on the school early in the morning on May 7, 1919 he fell off of the roof and was killed. Now I am looking for on how I can obtain copies of the court case that followed after his death, to determine whether or not the contractor of the demolistion was responsible for his death, or to pay the cost of whatever needed to be paid. Do these records still exsit:? ifso doesn anyone know how I can obtain them? I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia so I would have to obtain copies through the mail! Does the Ottawa Police force keep files from its court cases? Any help would be appreciated, I can offer help for anyone who can help me here in Halifax, if needed. Thanks Nathaniel Smith
