My gt gt grandmother was Jane Carter who married Dennis Cavanagh 10 Feb 1823 according to the Perth, Lanark Co, Parish Register. Jane and Dennis were actually residents of Huntley Twp or Fitzroy Twp at the time of their marriage. I believe Jane was a daughter of George Carter who is listed in the 1822 Head of Household Census for Upper Canada, Carleton Co, Huntley Township as having a wife and 4 sons and 2 daughters. The same census lists William Carter, single, Head of Household. I would appreciate hearing from any one who has further info on Jane Carter, her siblings, ancestors, or descendants.
