Hi List Does anyone know where I might find a list of the people that served with Lt. Col. By (circa 1826) while he was building the Rideau Canal. My family history says that my ggg-grandfather (Richard Bishop) worked for Col. By as "paymaster" on this project and I am trying to confirm this and to also try and find some military background.
