Hello I was wondering if anyone had a connection to the following family: Thomas Brown was a Private in the 99th Regiment and was granted land in Goulbourn Township in l821 approx. (Richmond, Ont.). His son William was also granted land. I know that William Brown died in Richmond in l849 5th Con 4 rear 1/2 of E 1/2 his wife was Elizabeth.: Children: John Brown was the oldest son according to his father's will. He married Margaret Porter. William Brown born l807 in Ireland moved to Montreal and opened Crescent St. Mary Bakery in Hochelega, Montreal. he married Elizabeth Ross in l834at St. Gabriels' Presbyterian Church (my gggrandparents) and is buried at Mount Royal Cemetery in l877. Elizabeth/ Isabella was born in l811 married Duncan McDougall a farmer in Long Pointe (Pte aux Trembles , Quebec. she died in Montreal and is buried at the Joseph Brown born in approx l812 moved to Montreal and opened an Inn and married Mary Eveleigh Mary McCarol? Sarah Campbell Elizabeth Cunningham married William Cunningham carpenter of Long Pointe . They married at St. Gabriel's Presbyterian Church in Montreal in l838? I realize that there are two daughters who are Elizabeth. another name which I have seen is Isabella so it looks like both had Elizabeth in their names but one as first and another as second name. . The gentlemen who gave me information was decended from Elizabeth McDougall. and gave me the information on all of the children with exception of my own William. . If it had not been for him I would not have known where myh family was from prior to Montreal. I have not been able to determine where Thomas Brown was from In Ireland.
