What I know about my ggf John Samuel Bishop, son of Richard Bishop/Margaret Dymond, born 1812 in Ireland was married to Barbara Calvin/Collins. came to Canada in 1826 or 1829 with parents. Was in Ottawa area. Was on 1851 census of Holland Centre, Grey county came to St Joseph Island, District of Algoma in 1860.- on 1861 census What I am trying to confirm: family history says wife was Barbara Calvin b Scotland other references say her name was Barbara Collins. In the Anglican Archives Reg # 23 (Bishop) 26 Mar 1845 John of Templeton, Sydenham Canada married Barbara Collins of Dalhousie page 17 (parish of March) First child was Thomas Bishop, baptized March 18, 1840-- possibly in Nepean.
