Dear Al Lewis, I have visited & enjoyed very much, your site "Bytown or Bust", many times. I was interested in your reference to Billings Bridge, as a great aunt of my husband's, Sarah Jane Harris,(b. 1876, Fitzroy, Carleton - 1938, Aylmer, Quebec) married Michael Whelan (b. 1870, Billings Bridge - abt. 1950, Aylmer, Quebec) in Ottawa, 1904. I have also seen "Hurdman Bridge" used in relation to Michael Whelan's origins. Is or was it near Billings Bridge? Or was it an alternate name for Billings Bridge? Also, if you or anyone else reading this has any further info. about Sarah & Michael's family, I would be glad to hear about it. I know Sarah's ancestry & I know that Michael was the son of Patrick Whelan & Catherine McGrath. I have learned that Sarah & Michael had 2 daughters: Adeline b. October 27, 1904 & Mary Agnes b. February 24, 1915. As far as I can tell, neither girl ever married, but due to the large gap of 11 years between their births, I'm wondering if there were any more children? I am still hopeful that I might find living descendants somewhere. Thank you! Mary Harris
