    3. Over this last summer we (Archive CD Books Canada) made an agreement with The Historical Society of Ottawa to borrow books from their library so we could scan them and make them more readily available through our catalogue. The Historical Society have a great library and we spent a whole afternoon there just "skimming the surface" for interesting books. We came away with a great long list of books we think you will be interested in. The Historical Society of Ottawa keeps its library in the Bytown Museum which is housed in an historic building in Ottawa downtown, right next to the main locks between the Rideau canal and the Ottawa River. We want to thank Christina Tessier, the museum's Director for her cooperation in allowing us to access the library and John Reid of BIFHSGO for his introductions which set this whole project in motion. Please join with us in thanking the Historical Society of Ottawa for their generosity in making their collection more generally available in this way. We are currently working on the first set of these books that the society has allowed us to borrow and the following are now available in our on-line catalogue: - Pioneers of the Upper Ottawa and the Humors of the Valley, by Anson Gard, pub. 1906. Product # CA0189. - Anson Gard's "Ottawa Valley," A compilation of the above book and our previous publication of The Hub and the Spokes, by Anson Gard. Product #CA0196. - Ottawa City Directory 1861-2, by Boyd & McDonald. Product #CA0191 - Report of the Ottawa and Hull Fire Relief Fund. (Did you know of the Great Fire of Ottawa / Hull in 1900?) Product #CA0188 This is just the "first flush" of what we hope will be an extensive line of republications from this library. There are more complete descriptions of these books in our on-line catalogue, and free samplers for you to download, from our web site at: http://www.ArchiveCDBooks.ca
