To all:- The other week I posted a memo with three requests I would like to see finalized prior to any vote to finalize this session of Parliament. The three requests were Bill S-18, now waiting for Second Reading in the Houseof Commons; a DNA Federal Database; and Bill S-2 -- the Lost Canadians bill was passed. When writing to YOUR Member of Parliament, please write in your own words, and add full name and address -- not just a first name. We all desire Bill S-18 -- I did not get my wish and have it passed prior to VE-Day -- but with all the ceremonies fresh in the minds of politicians, this week would still be alright!! Veterans at Sunnybrook watched ceremonies at Ottawa and in Holland yesterday -- while four leaders paid a visit today!!! The governor-general represented Canada in Russia -- the ceremony was terrific. Check http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/ See "Progress of Bill S-18" A DNA Federal Database is very definitely needed -- watch the news about another pedophile being "dropped" in the community of Sutton, Ontario. Offenders, not always sex offenders, have often disappeared, but with a DNA federal database, our police forces would have a great tool to assist them. Check Christopher's Law at http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/DBLaws/Source/Statutes/English/2000/S00001_e.htm Problem:- This law should be federal. Christopher Stevephenson of Brampton, Ontario would now be about 24 if a pedophile, unknown to local police, had not be placed in a Brampton community. Above all, cross your fingers and hope that this session of the House of Commons continues until some of the pressing issues are dealt with -- with ALL parties working to accomplish the best session to date, and finally, a census release bill not dumped in the garbage!!
