I want to help you find out about your Meuse/Muise roots because I have been in the same boat. Mom tells me that there was no orphanage in Eelbrook -- it was in Halifax. My mother went to a two-room schoolhouse in Ste. Anne du Ruisseau (formerly Eelbrook). The school was run by The Sisters of Charity. Mom says that her mother's aunt (Julienne) worked as a housekeeper for a Dr. Parker in Tuskett who had five children. Two of these children were deaf mutes. My mother's mother (Rosalie Octovie Muise) worked for a Dr. Melanson in Eelbrook until she married my grandfather (Alvinie Anatole Lorgere).
