Thomas Dane's birthdate comes from my father. I too am trying to link T. Dane to his Massachusetts family—without success, so far. I too have taken a look at the silversmith info.... In fact, I am also a descendant of James Brown Dane—my father, my brother, my nephew (and my son Jordane, in a way) all carry the name Dane as one of their first names, and my brother uses it as his first name of choice. I will post if I verify Thomas Dane's birthplace and parentage.
