    1. HIPSON in Yarmouth
    2. Marg & Bruce Switzer
    3. Hello, I am trying to trace my gggrandmother a Moriah or Mary Hipson who would have been born 1811-1817 ( depending on what census you look at) . This Moriah/ Mary ended up living in Ontario in Walpole Township by the 1830's and married to a Daniel Forsyth(e). I can find no trace of a birth nor family for her in Ontario . Noticed a Francis Hipson on this mailing list who was a grandfather to a Mary Hipson b. 1817 to Samuel and Sarah Hipson in Yarmouth. Moriah/Mary named her first son James (husbands father) Francis ( could be on her side? ) Forsyth. Anyone know of these Hipsons from Yarmouth? Would appreciate any info. Thanks so much. Cheers, Margaret Switzer Komoka, Ontario.

On board were other men who listed Yarmouth as their home port. They were Peter Muse (Muise),1859,listing his relative as his sister Jane Guynin; George Smith,1860, an African Canadian, who listed his relative as sister-in-law Mrs. A. Thompson; and John White,1875, who listed his relative as wife Mrs. Ruth White. This was the year 1921 and I have put the dates of these men from the info I got. My question is does anyone know any of these men and would any of their families have diaries or pictures that my father Ray Blades would show up in?

    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nels Allen To: NOVA SCOTIA ROOTS WEB Cc: Yarmouth Roots wab Sent: Monday, May 29, 2006 9:50 PM Subject: Samuel Soames Bain List Need help to find descendants of Samuel Soames Bain (1808-1871) married Harriet Goudey (1815-1886). He once owned a house in Dayton N S , previously owned by Jacob K Tedford Sr. a shoemaker. Samuel S Bain was also a shoemaker and was owner from 1841 to 1871. Have found Samuel's son Norman (1845-1877). Were there other children ? The house in Dayton is now "At the sign of the Whale". I lived there from 1934 to 1949 while it was owned by a Yarmouth Merchant Herm Gillis who owned a meat markrt on Main St. I am also interested in the parents of Nathan Bain of Chegoggin, born Aug. 1871, married Ina King, b. May 1873. I have found they had a dtr Dorothy who married 1928 Andrew Jackson Ricker. And Nathan had a son "Nate" born June 1908 and d. 1998 a ball player and worked at the YMCA. Can anyone tell me who Nathan's parents were ? I beleive he descends from Alexander 1st, the 8 year old shipwrecked survivor. Thanks Bernice Allen Thunder Bay Ont.
