    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EQC.2ACI/764.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello Barbara! So glad tohear from you. My grandmother (Rosalie Octavie Muise) had a sister named Margaret Modeste Muise (also known as Marguerite Modeste Muise). Margaret was born 14 June 1902 in Sluice Point Nova Scotia. According to the information I have Margaret married Enos Pierre Amirault (also known as JeanPierre Ignace Amirault on ll January 1922. They were married 11 January 1922 on Amirault's Hill, Nova Scotia. Margaret died on 8 January, 1996 in Medford, Mass. So, we could be related! I see that Margaret also had a sister named Ann Virginia Muise born 21 February, 1899. Ann died in Malden Mass on 12 February, 1946. Perhaps some of the foregoing will be of some help to you. My cousin Richard in Halifax tells me that my mother's family never spoke of the Mi'kmaq connection because her generation was still suffering the after effects of the Acadian expulsion. They figured that belonging to one minority (French) was enough and gave all their children English names thinking it would be easier for them to make their way in an English world. Little did they know that the tides would change and society's attitudes would change along too. I think it is so sad that they had to feel this way, but I am glad that society's attitudes have changed! I hope you have time in Nova Scotia in October to do some research. My interest in this is totally piqued now and I wish I could do the same. My direct e-mail is: spaniels@klondiker.com if you wanted to e-mail me directly. I would welcome the chance to share information with you. Sincerely, Denise Leschart

Surnames: Muse, Walsh, Lucey, Whelahan, Dennehy Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EQC.2ACI/764.1 Message Board Post: Hello, I'm also searching for my Muse ancestors. We have been told my grandmother, who was born in Yarmouth, N.S. in 1878, was also Mi'kMaq. Her name was Maryellen or Nellie. Maryellen could also be Marie or Nellie, Helen. Very confusing. According to her marriage license, her parents were Anne Muse and Henry Parker. Never located either of them. She like speaking only French. Her and my grandfather were married in Sacred Heart Church, Malden, Ma. USA. in 1904. If we have her birthdate correct, she would have been 26. My father was first of 8 children. I know there was a Frank Muse who came to see her once while living in South Boston, Ma., but my sister said she refused to see him. I've been to Nova Scotia about 10 or 11 times over the years and have not had any luck finding info. It seems during that period of the late 1800's, no one kept birth records, but the Catholic Church kept baptismal records, which I cannot locate. There was also a Margaret Muse listed as a witn! ess on her marriage license. Don't know the connection. So many different spellings of Muse, I'm just going with what was on her marriage license. I also need help. The newest story I've been told by a distant cousin is Henry Parker was a Blackfoot indian from the western part of Canada. Don't know if it's true.... Keep in touch please and I'll do the same. I am traveling to NS in October once again. Wish me luck...Thanks, Barbara

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/EQC.2ACI/652.2 Message Board Post: Hi, I came across your note recently about Ramie Doucette. I am wondering if you have any more information on him. My great grandmother was Mary Amelia Doucette and I believe she is one of the children listed under Albert Doucette in the Canadian 1881 census, the year and birthplace being the same. The census spelling is wrong they have it as Amiel instead of Amelia which is why I discounted those Doucettes as being related. I recently found a copy of my great grandmother's death certificate and her parents are listed as Albert Doucette and Chantelle Muse. Amelia had a sister Elizabeth, and a younger sister Agness who is not listed in that census. She was born after 1881 and was the youngest of the siblings.. I am wondering if any of this sounds familiar to you ? I would like to hear from you if you can share any information. My mother often told us that her mother had brothers who were lost at sea in the Bay of Fundy or North Atlantic. I found some information on a Ra! mie Doucette who perished on the Olympia in 1913. My mother was Dorothy McComiskey Sidley and her parents were Joseph and Amelia McComiskey from Nova Scotia. Joseph McComiskey was born in the Eeelbrook section of Nova Scotia. One last thing. My mother told me that her mother had a brother who lived to be over 100 and when I saw your note I put 2 and 2 together. My grandmother died at 101 years of age.

    3. Obviously, we have once again been visited by a spammer from the message board. Please do NOT send any part of it back to the list in response. I do not object to brief comment about it on the list, although it is off topic and I see no need for it, but anyone returning the spam to the list in response will be removed from the list. Best suggestion I can make is don't give them the audience they want, and simply delete it and forget it. If you want do discuss it OFF the list, you can reach me at the address below. Sorry it happened, but that is one of the costs of using the gateway to our companion message board. David List Admin can-ns-yarmouth-admin@rootsweb.com

Now the interesting part - Eugenie Frontin also known as Kanie was married to my grandfather Joseph Albert Blanchard. I have her death certificate but that is all I know of her. Recently an older unkle gave me some old photos of ladies he thought were the Frontin's but we are not sure. If I send copies to you perhaps some of your relatives might see some family resemblances or identify them - I am prepared to do that if you would let me know your findings If so please send email to me at laurie.blanchard@rvh.nb.ca rather than on the message board Thanks
