    3. Hi, I found some information in the book "Lost Mariners of Shelburne County, Volume 2". (page 120 & 121) Everything listed below is from this book and is word for word, directly from the book.... Two young fishermen of Lower Clarks Harbour, Colburne Nickerson, son of Mrs. Frank Swim; and William Smith, son of Mrs. Joshua Atwood, met a sudden death by drowning off the Cape on the 19th. They left the land in their motorboat with ten lobster traps. Mr. Arthur Smith passed them on the way to his traps and they then had traps on the boat. When he returned he passed a bait tub and then a crate and, fearing an accident had taken place, he kept the same course and almost ran afoul of their boat before he saw it, full of water. The traps were gone and the boat was held by the buoy lines, which had become twisted around the propeller. Nickerson was gone, but Smith was held by some of the lines, his head in the water. Mr. Arthur Smith tried several times to get alongside but the sea was too rough. He then came to land and the Coast Guard went at once to the scene of the tragedy, but could find no trace of the boats or its occupants. (The Shelburne Gazette and Coast Guard 24 December 1913) Colburne Nickerson born 16 August 1892, was the son of Malcolm and Madora (Atkinson) Nickerson. He married ADDIE LOUISE SMITH, daughter of Vincent and Louisa (Ross) Smith, and resided in Clarks Harbour. Addie was born at Clarks Harbour 9 June 1895 and died 14 January 1987. Colburne was drowned 19 December 1913 from aboard the Cope while lobster fishing on the Round Shoal off Cape Sable Island. Addie married (2) Leslie Atkinson. Children of COLBURNE and ADDIE (SMITH) NICKERSON: i. Vincent Waldo born 28 July 1912. Married Barbara Hamilton. After the death of his father, Vincent was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Thomas Ray and Elizabeth (Smith) Worthen. ii.
