I am also researching the Chetwynds from Barraco Cape sable Island Nova Scotia. As for their origin, Thomas Chetwynd came to Nova Scotia as a loyalist from New York. He was originally from Staffordshire England. His son William b.june 12 1768 married Elizabeth Nickerson Jan. 28 1794 in N.S. This is the Chetwynd line that I am a decendent of.
