    1. Where is "Eastport?"
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harris, Bent Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YOC.2ACE/852 Message Board Post: A sizeable percentage of my ancestors down my own surname were seafaring folks who settled in Digby, Yarmouth, and Shelburne Counties, including Westport in Digby County. However, I have an increasing amount of them in a place called "Eastport." The source gives nothing else in the way of county or other location. I would think it fair to believe "Eastport" could be near Westport, but I would rather not guess. None of the normally reliable sources I use can shed any light on this, so hopefully someone here can give me some direction. Some of the surnames involved are Harris and Bent, but there are a scattering of others. Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated.

    1. Where is "Eastport?"
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. Find Bar Harbour or Campobello Island on a map of the eastern seaboard of United States. You will note that presently a ferry runs from Campobello Island to Eastport and eventually ends up at St. George's in New Brunswick. It would be an short voyage from Eastport to Yarmouth. ----- Original Message ----- From: <decann@infionline.net> To: <CAN-NS-SHELBURNE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 12, 2004 12:02 PM Subject: [NSShelburne] Where is "Eastport?" > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Harris, Bent > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YOC.2ACE/852 > > Message Board Post: > > A sizeable percentage of my ancestors down my own surname were seafaring folks who settled in Digby, Yarmouth, and Shelburne Counties, including Westport in Digby County.
