One of my ancestors was a Martha Dunlop, who married Andrew Hammond around 1813 (possibly in the Liverpool area, possibly by the Rev. John Payzant), and based on some things I have come across, I wonder if Martha is a Gorham descendant. Thank you for any help you can give.
I am not certain if Mary Gorham married William Dunlop, but please check "The Diary of Simeon Perkins -- Extracts" posted at http://homepages.rootsweb.com./~downhome/ Jabez Gorham received land about 1766 in Liverpool -- the Township of Liverpool was founded 1759. There are mentions of these two families -- pages 16, 58 and elsewhere. I notice the widow of Jabez Gorham passed away, age 81,on September 14, 1811. William Dunlop passed away October 28, 1811 at Port Medway, as did a son of Alexander Dunlop. These extracts were started by a cousin, Lt.Col. Robert Ford Kirkpatrick (USAF-Ret'd) and when you see ** these are items I have added. Enjoy reading about the past!!
