    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hopkins/Snow Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YOC.2ACE/789 Message Board Post: I have recently traced my family tree back to Stephen Hopkins(1) of the Mayflower. Through his daughter, Constance Hopkins Snow(2) I am the 16th generation. Through his son, Giles Hopkins, I am the 15th generation. It is Constance and Nicholas who are on my radar screen at the present time. They had a son, Joseph Snow(3) who married "Mary" who had a son Benjamin Snow(4), who had a son also named Benjamin(5). Either or both Benjamin Snows moved from Massachusetts to Shelburne County, Nova Scotia and resettled. From Benjamin(5) my memory gets foggy - my notes are at home - but it clears up with Winthrop Snow(12), who had a daughter Nancy Louise Snow Murphy(13) who had a son Milton Murphy(14) who had a son "Roy" Murphy(15) who had me, Ruby Murphy Wood(16). With the generous assistance of my mother, of course. Are there any descendents of Stephen Hopkins in general, and the Benjamin Snows in particular, who would like to trade information and/or conversation? Also, can some kind soul tell me - how do you go about "attaching" youself to a Mayflower Passenger? What do you need to do for the Mayflower Society to prove a lineage? From Stephen Hopkins down to Benjamin Show is outlined in a book by the Mayflower Society - is that considered "established" so you don't have to re-prove it? Any any all replies gratefully accepted!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YOC.2ACE/451.449.468.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Rev. Edwin Crowell and the Township Records agree that Mercy married Sargent Sears, but they also agree that Azuba was the sister of John W.Sargent Sears and not his daughter. Crowell says: Mercy Knowles, daughter of Nathaniel, married Sargent sears, son of Josiah Sears. Their children were Josiah, Lavina, Nathaniel, Winthrop and Mahala. The Township Records say: Josiah Sears and Elizabeth his wife - their oldest child was Azuba, born Feb.26, 1791; deceased October 25, 1822. Other children of Josiah were Martha, Mercy, Jerusha, John Sargent, Mary, Phebe, Huldah, Elizabeth, Josiah (Jr), and Margaret. Crowell also says Azuba Sears was the daughter of Josiah Sears and Phebe Adams. She was born in 1791 and after she grew up she married Daniel McComiskey. Josiah Sears Sr. seems to have had lots of wives - presumably there is a problem there - one of them may have been the wife of Josiah Jr. Roland.

If not Liverpool Methodist, please let me know and I will recheck. She died in 1905 and was buried at the Anglican cemetery in West Green HArbour. She has a headstone so is easy to find. 1. [NSShelburne] New to list- enquiring after Shirley PENTZ
    2. Celia Renshaw
    3. Hi to all on the CAN-NS-SHELBURNE list. I'm new here and wonder if anyone can help me. My mother (now nearly 80) used to have a pen-pal called Shirley PENTZ who lived at the School-house in Shelburne. They wrote to each other up to early in WW2 then lost touch. Last my mum heard, Shirley was engaged to a sailor - mum thinks he may have been Swedish, so possibly Shirley headed off abroad. Mum would love to know what happened for Shirley and I'd love to give her some news as an 80th birthday surprise. Now I know this isn't a strictly genealogical enquiry so if I'm out of order, I apologise - hope someone can tell me another mailing list to try if I'm in the wrong place. In hope Celia Renshaw near Nottingham, UK

    3. As noted, this "isn't a strictly genealogical enquiry," is also off-topic for this list, and seeks information on a person likely to be still living. If anyone does respond, please do so directly and not on the list. Thanks. David E.
