This is in concern to a family tree for David William Gabel Austin and Margery Rattray, married in 1871, of Weldford New Brunswick Canada. There are some family members born prior to 1877 that are not included in your tree that I thought you may want to include. This family is mentioned in a 1881 Census in which I obtained from a lookup request at GenForum. Please contact me at rpander40@yahoo.com or see information that was sent to me on GenForum under the Wisconsin Forum regarding 'Austins of Wisconsin'. I would love to share information with you regarding the Austen, Sypher, Atkinson, Rattray families. I also believe that Margery Rattray's mother could have possibly married a McIntosh or MacIntosh as per other information I received from the same GenForum. I hope to hear from you. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YOC.2ACE/546.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Hello Diane, I hopt this reaches you...we are cousins! I am Jan (Whitehouse) Weems. My father was Arthur Wallace Whitehouse (1918-1993). His father was Arthur Jackson Whitehouse: he was raised by his sister, Ida Belle Whitehouse, your grandmother, after his mother died. I knew your Aunt Jessie Morrell Wyman ( she used to write to me when I was little) and her daughter, Ruth (Wyman)Blake. Ruth and her family lived close to us in Illinois for a few years, and we got to know each other. She moved back East and we didn't see her for years, then she moved to Australia with her new husband. We saw her once again when she visited us in 1987, and one or two times more after that....Her son Greg stood up for me at my wedding 3 years ago, since my dad was gone! I am new to genealogy, but have connected with a few people regarding our mystery ancestor, William Whitehouse 1st. i would really like to know who his parents were, and where they were from, as I can't trace my family! in that line any farther back......I am also a descendent of the Ricker family, through Eleanora Jane Ricker (and of course, her husband, Elihu Whitehouse, my great-grandfather.) I visited Nova Scotia in 1994 when we brought my dad's ashes for burial in the family plot, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, perhaps you have seen his marker there. I was able to meet Elizabeth Ricker Lewis, and we wrote back and forth for years, until her death. I also met Eunice Atkinson, who bought the old Whitehouse home on Ricker's Hill many years ago, and she was kind enough to give us a tour of the house----it was familiar to me through my dad's descriptions of his visits there many years ago. I have many old photos left to me by my gramma, Emma Louise Whitehouse. One of those was a picture of a family reunion, taken by my dad when he was about 10, with around25 people posed against the wall of the old Whitehouse home---it is packed away at present, as we have been moving, so Idon't recall if ! you were there or not---does this sound familiar?? I would love to hear from you, and perhaps we could exchange whatever family information we have, and fill in some missing history! You can email me at sabrakatz@hotmail.com, or write to me at:
