Surnames: townsend and bangay Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YOC.2ACE/714.3.1.1 Message Board Post: i did get a little mix up when i posted my message because i assumed my fathers fater had the last name townsend but i was wrong.his mother was hattie jane townsend when he was born and his father was kenneth bangay.he was raised by his grandmother eliza.his mother married kenneth bangay i beleive when he was 3 years old.they did have a few more children and elisha was one of them and besides there was a delbert,estella,annie and i beleive one more son.i do have a book of the townsends which i received from a david townsend from lockport.if you would like me to email it to you i would love to.it is a very interesting book and it goes far back to our ancestry.

My dad is the youngest of three boys, the oldest Michael, James, then John (my dad). Other than this, I do not know much more of the history or names involved, any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks

This Mary Sutherland was prob. born about 1855 or so, she married a CHASE.....at some point Mary Sutherland Chase joined Mary Ryer Pierce in MA, USA and was buried in the Pierce family plot in Everett, MA in the 1920's. Need anything and everything on this Mary Sutherland Chase... Cemetery will not release any info since I cannot prove relationship, even though she is in the family plot... state will not provide death cert., since I cannot prove relationship....     3. Happy New Year, List: The 1901 census transcription is coming along - there are now almost 1,600,000 names transcribed BUT there are still many to be done. There are 17 districts in Nova Scotia and so far only Annapolis, Hants, Kings and Lunenburg are completed. Why don't you check to see if your NS relative has been transcribed (http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html). Just click on "1901:" in the upper right hand corner of the page and follow the directions on the that page. AND...while you're there, why not sign up to help with the transcription? It's easy to do!
