As for William McCoy, that source is from Gordon Smith as per interviews from family members. Then he said that the dates didn't fit. There is no record of marriage that I have found as of yet! Why then would Peter's last name be Smith his Mother's maiden name?????

William Jr. was born 7 Jan. 1799 according to the Barrington Township Records. In these same records it says Sr. died in 1826 yet it shows Martha Addams (sic) widow marrying Stephen Nickerson in 1782. Am I confusing two different families?

Elder John Craig was one of the early Baptist ministers in Shelburne County (late 1700s early 1800s) preaching at Ragged Islands and surrounding area. He married a member of the Locke family. Anyone know anything about him, his wife and his family, or the church that he organized there?

I know nothing about him, or have any proof to help you rule out any of them as right or wrong... but, this is what I have. 'Cooper's Inn Bed and Breakfast', located in Shelburne, was owned at one time, by a George Gracie. I beleive he was the first owner. ( there were 6, and each room is named for them). I do know that part of the house dismantled and shipped to its present location where it was put back together. Perhaps the current owners would have more information for you. Worth a try. They may have the missing link!! Good luck!
