Her parents were Charles Thomas and Anna Smith. I know that her father lobstered from Seal Island when she was a girl. They lived on the island during the season and returned to "their old house on the hill" in Barrington Pass on the off season. Would appreciate any help and would share any info I have with other lookers. Linda

In the 1850 Census, Medina County, Ohio, a Peter Smith, age 20 and living with Henry H Carter and I believe his younger brother Jacob Smith, age 18. Peter married a Lovina Smith, and was living in the same township, several homes away with a Solomon Smith, I assumed her father. He applied for their marriage license. I ask because I am desperately trying to find Jacob Smith's family. He was my gggrandfather, and it is believed he was from Canada. Please send me an email to gmontoya@iglide.net. Thanks

My Thankful Smith m Samuel Scott of Machias, Maine, c1775 (based on the birthdate of their first child, b Machias 23 Aug 1776). Assuming she was about 18 at the time of her marriage, that would put her birth date c1767. Their last child was b Machias 27 May 1797. I do not know her death date (or anything else about her, for that matter). Samuel and Thankful lived briefly in Dennysville, where their 6th child was born. There was a Smith family there, originally from Braintree, MA (from whom I also descend -- unrelated, as far as I know, to the Barrington, NS-Chatham, MA, Smiths). Perhaps Thankful is related to that Smith family. David

This is to let you all know that I have just turned this list (and corresponding message board) over to a new List Admin, and I want to thank all of you for making my job as List Admin so enjoyable. I will be remaining on as "just a subscriber" at least for the indefinite future, but as of this morning, you have a new List Administrator. Kitty is the County Coordinator of the Shelburne County GenWeb site, so is no stranger to Shelburn County. She wrote to me several month ago to let me know that she was interested in having the list and board "at such time as I decide to give them up," and it simply became time to do so. It is purely a decision caused by some "more urgent priorities" at the moment, causing me to feel guilty about neglecting some things, so now the list and board will get the care they deserve. I will remain as the Admin of Yarmouth County List and Board, however, so if any of you venture across the county line, you will see me there. Again, I thank you all for making this job such a pleasure. Please feel free to drop me a line any time (OFF the list please), or you will continue seeing me on the list in the future. I hope you will give Kitty all of the support that you gave me. David David E. Cann decann@infionline.net

He was born in the Tusket area on the 28th of January 1872. In the 1881 Census I found a Ramie listed as 10 years old. His father & mother are listed as Albert & Annie. I found my Ramie's marriage of 1902 to Lillie M Keating that listed his parents as Albert & Janet. I'm wondering if the Ramie's are the same person and if so did his father remarry or was her middle name used in one of the records. Looking for any info or help on Albert Doucette & Janet or Annie ?.
