To all:- Signatures on census petitions continue to be needed as we hope for the release of 1911 records to assist genealogy. Both House of Commons and Senate petitions are needed http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Petition.htm A person may sign both Canadian petitions, but follow instructions for the Non-Resident one, please. At present there is no census bill - but we hope the many letters might bring forth a government bill on our behalf. Tabulations as of Oct. 31, 2002 included:- British Columbia - 289; Alberta - 45; Saskatchewan - 47; Ontario - 224; Quebec - 40; Nova Scotia - 31; Total 676. Non-Resident total was 337, with some signed in Canada. It was great to see Family History Centres, LDS Centre, Ontario Genealogy Society plus Canadians at Dow Chemical in United States. We have two BHC petitions - many thanks! Just ask groups such as above -- all very helpful! Attachments are available in both English and French languages. Muriel M.
