My father went to his grave believing he was Scottish. I got the 'Irish' from one of the Yarmouth County History books that mentioned some of the early settlers and their cultural background. Of course that is someone else's opinion. One thing that may be significant though is that in his last will and testament inventory, one of the items is an 'iron suprano' more likely to be used by Irish musicians. Also the name Mckinney (Mckenne, Mckinnie) used by this family in Yarmouth County is Irish.
