The gentleman in question, John Mckenne was one of the longest serving Baptist Ministers in NS, with Parsonages at Greenfield and Sable River. I spell his name "Mckenne" because that is how it is spelled on his headstone in the Rockland Cemetery, Shelburne Co. He also used the name Mckinnon earlier when he signed some Deeds at Mill Village. He married Sara Ann Hunt when her husband Thomas Hunt drowned in the Medway River at Westfield. She also has a nice headstone at Rockland. John's parents (my GGG Grandparents) were John Mckenne (Mckinney) and Elizabeth Cohoon. He used the Mckenne spelling in the Liverpool Township records when they were married in 1815. The Rev John Payzant's Marriage records spelled his name as Mckinney. John's parents (my GGGG Grandparents) were John Mckinney (he also used Mckenne, Mckenney, and Mckinnie) and Rebecca Lovitt of Chegoggin, Yarmouth County. The Lovitts came fr! om Beverly, Mass and John came to NS with the British Navy. I hope this helps.
