    3. To all:- While searching for Nova Scotia Links for http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~downhome/ I came across a very long list of items by Ruby Cusack. Many are of the New Brunswick area, but this one, although later than Christmas, is applicable to our 75,000 missing Home Children. The story is there, but briefly, 100,000 children were tagged and shipped from Britain to Canada to become cheap labour for many farmers. To date ONLY 25,000 have been identified -- due mainly to census enumerator errors -- using the family name instead of the name of the child(ren). In my FARQUHAR family, we had one Home Child named Allan Brown -- anyone viewing Queens County, Nova Scotia census of 1881, 1891 and 1901 will see his name was stated as requested by my gr.grandfather and grandfather. Read http://www.rubycusack.com/issue50.html and then wonder "where are the missing 75,000 men and women"!!! Muriel M.
