Born in Park City, Utah, she was a daughter of the late W.D. and Isabel (Grant) Buck. She resided most of her life in Springville, except for 17 years in Flushing, N.Y., and then returned to Bridgeville. She was a graduate of Pictou Academy and attended Provincial Normal College, Truro, teaching school in Thorburn. She was a member of Springville Presbyterian Church; Missionary Society; past president of Springville Institute; member of Home and Country; Dorcas Rebekah Lodge 42, Thorburn and former clerk of session in Flushing Presbyterian Church, New York. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Thomasset, New York; Rilla Hickert, California; two sisters, Dorothy Raphael, Vermont; Ann MacDonald, Stellarton; two brothers, John, London, Ont.; W.D. Jr., Churchville, Pictou County; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces ! and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland; three sisters, Afton Hansen, Edna Fraser, Gracie; brother, Grant. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where a lodge service will be 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Springville Presbyterian Church, Rev. Waldon Moase officiating. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Valley View Villa, Springville Presbyterian Church or any charity.
