Recent posts lead me to ask whether anyone has found a link back to Kildonan Parish in Sutherland, Scotland. I'm looking for siblings/parents of Catherine GRANT who married John SUTHERLAND in Kildonan who emigrated with young and married children to Red River via Hudson Bay in 1813 (ship Prince of Wales). Catherine was widowed upon arrival and most of her family made their way to Ontario. This query isn't as far-fetched as it sounds. I know of a FRASER family with siblings in Pictou County as well as in West Gwillimbury Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, which is where Catherine GRANT died (no stone found to date). Thanks!
