    1. [CAN-NS-PICTOU] tracing William Morrill's mother and father
    2. Charlotte Wood
    3. Olive Bowden, President of the MacKenzie Society in NS, is a descendent. I am including here an e-mail from her. "presume you are the same Charlotte who sent the MacKenzie application for membership, really pleased with that but more pleased to see you know about the Morrill's. That Morrill who had the stove factory was my great-grandfather. My grandmother was Mira Morrill married to Neil Hingley, My Dad was Harold. Aunt Lucy Morrill spent her last days in Westville, she and her brother Samuel had been in the Boston area returning to Carribou River where he bought a farm handy my grandparents and he and Lucy lived together for a long time. I don't think either of them ever married, I know she didn't, her boyfriend was killed in some sort of accident and that was the end of romance for her. She was a pretty woman in her younger years but a cranky old girl during my growing up years. I would love to know more about the family, I adored my grandmother she became blind when she was 65 and only "Seen" two of her grandchildren/ I will be sending out your membership card tomorrow. In the meantime have a good day! Olive Bowen" If interested, I could send privately her e-mail address. I have posted here before and also on another list looking for information about my g grandmother but reached a dead end. Her name was Mary Cartwright and her father was Peter. Her mother died when she was young, and her father married one of the Morrill's but I don't know which one. Then her father died and then the Morrill wife, and one of her sisters brought her up. I do believe it would have been in the vicinity of Albion Mines. When I was a little girl, I remember visiting the Morrill farm in Caribou River. Don't know who was there then. I had always thought it was Lucy but it could not have been if she died in 1944. My mother often talked about Lucy. The information above refers to a stove factory that they owned (the Morrills) and moved from Brule to River John. I have some information on it that I received from Mr. MacDonald, the Manager of the Liquor Store in River John. I might tell you that there are some Morrill family members buried in the cemetery on the Cape John Road outside of River John.
