In the article "Early Pictou County Marriages" by Karen McKay, there is a marriage on 7 March 1850 between Alexander McGregor, no residence given, and Isabella McKenzie of Sutherland's River. Most of the marriages in this document were extracted from the Register of Marriages from the McLennan's Mountain area of Pictou County. Does anyone have any info on this couple? It's possible Alex McGregor was still alive in 1881, as there is a 77 year old widower Alexander McGregor, born in Scotland, living in New Glasgow with a 40 year old Alex McGregor, 44 year old Marjory McGregor and 2 children, John, 10 and Bessie, 4. Alex the younger, now 60 is still around in the 1901 census in Trenton along with Marjory, 64 (listed as his sister) and Bessie, 23 (listed as an adopted daughter). Does anyone have access to the census of 1871 and 1891 who could have a look for any of these people in Pictou Co.? Thanks, Peter McRae
