Hey all!! I know I havn’t been the most active person on these groups but I need some help finding a program. I am getting tired of the expense of printing Census forms so I can write in them. I am hoping someone out there knows of a program that can convert PDF files to DOC files so I can type my information instead of writing them by hand. Anything would be fine even if it is a link to some DOC info files. The census and summery’s are great to have in hard copy for reference but my wrist hates writing them I think. The other bit of info I am looking for is the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census for download. I am not always with an internet connection (at sea) but still have time to read it for information. Both me and my wrist thank you all Ryan No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.5.488 / Virus Database: 269.13.37/1042 - Release Date: 01/10/2007 6:59 PM
Ryan PDF files can be printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader - pretty much the default program. Perhaps it has to do with the source, as documents can be made 'non-printable'. As for converting PDF to doc, Google 'printing PDF files' and you will find a number.... Bill Nicholson Fraser Lake, BC
Try one of these. http://www.softinterface.com/index.htm http://www.pdftodocconverterpro.com/ I haven't used either, so I can't make a comment. Hi, On the first question, the most foolproof method is to purchase a copy of Adobe Acrobat (as opposed to Adobe reader, which is the free version). Unfortunately, because it is an Adobe product, it's fairly expensive. (http://www.adobe.com) The other option could be to create your own document with the same format and then turn it into a .pdf. The license for this is also through Adobe, but you can purchase a license for a month at a time for $9.99. (http://createpdf.adobe.com/) There are other apps that allow you to convert between formats (ex: http://www.pdfonline.com/) but I haven't used them and can't validate how well they would work. Good luck!
