    1. [CAN-NS-PICTOU] McGregor - McKenzie
    2. Peter McRae
    3. Marsha, Thanks for your help on the McGregors. I'm trying to tie this family into John McGregor, born 1851 in Sutherland's River, who married Lydia Catherine McRae of Glengarry on 9 Feb 1878 in New Glasgow. The marriage info says he was the son of Alexander and Isabelle McGregor. So far I don't think I have anything concrete but I'm still trying. By 1881 John and Lydia were in Newdale, Manitoba and eventually most of the family ended up in British Columbia. Any more help very much appreciated. Peter

    3. Peter, I'm showing this family in the Little Harbour register, which included Sutherland's River area "as far as I know"....there are two other McGregor families in Little Harbour too, but they are quite a ways (according to numbering 1-145-148, and 1-143-145) down the road. Little Harbour 1-45-47, McGregor # 2, April 11 1871. Alexander (M 55 Md Farmer), Betty (F 44 Md), Margat (sic) (F 21), John (M 19 Farmer), Lewis (there's a question mark covering the last 4 letters of his name...starts with an L for sure) (M 15), Mary (F 14), Huena (F 12), Catherine (F 11), Jennet (F 9), Marion (F 7). All born NS, All origins: Scotch (I hate that word! we're Scottish!), Religion: All Presbyterian. Maybe this is the right family? Betty is usually a diminutive of Elizabeth, though, not Isabelle.... 3. Hi, I've been watching the information exchange on the Mc/MacGregors as I have a Grace MacGregor who married my Great Uncle Anthony Swantee. She was born in 1913, other than that I have no information on her family ties. Should anyone come across my Great Aunt Grace (I met her when I was a child, she was a wonderful person!) I would greatly appreciate a heads-up. Thanks, and happy hunting.
