    3. Ryan and others interested in the forms, I searched on the internet for "free census forms as a word document" and found the following site that allows free downloads in PDF or Text format. PDF files, of course, need the program that allows you to edit the document. I downloaded the USA 1930 census in text format and it does allow you to enter text. At that time, you could print or save to your folder. Click on the following links or copy/paste to your search engine. Scroll down the first page because it includes Canadian forms. There are several sites with free downloads and some are in excel format. http://www.bcgs.ca/Genealogy%20Forms.htm http://www.familytreemagazine.com/forms/download.html There are probably other sites but this was the first one that was not in a PDF format that I found. If you are in Ancestry or the Heritage Quest Library sites and open the census files, it will allow you to save the PDF file to your computer rather than printing or hand typing the information. Hope this helps, Sandra > [Original Message] > From: Ryan Thompson <[email protected]> > To: Pictou County Roots Web List <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; Halifax List <[email protected]>; Cape Breton Island Rootsweb List <[email protected]>; British List <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> > Date: 10/3/2007 1:19:48 AM > Subject: [NS-L] File Support > Hey all!! I know I havnt been the most active person on these groups but I need some help finding a program. I am getting tired of the expense of printing Census forms so I can write in them. I am hoping someone out there knows of a program that can convert PDF files to DOC files so I can type my information instead of writing them by hand. Anything would be fine even if it is a link to some DOC info files. The census and summerys are great to have in hard copy for reference but my wrist hates writing them I think. The other bit of info I am looking for is the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census for download. I am not always with an internet connection (at sea) but still have time to read it for information. Both me and my wrist thank you all Ryan
