Here's one link that mentions a member of the family specifically ...it refers to founding "Pawtuxet" this is a reference to a river of the same name that runs through the present Kent County in RI.. http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/RhodeIslandHistory/chapt2.html Today, the Pawtuxet of old might include parts of Warwick RI, West Warwick RI, Cranston, Scituate.
