Pictou Co Listers: My ancestor: William McCulloch b. abt 1783 Tain, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland, son of Alexander and Margaret [Forrester] McCulloch of Tain, Scotland, migrants to Kennetcook, Hants Co, NS, about 1788. This William McCulloch migrated to Mount Thom, Pictou Co, NS. His wife was Mary Fraser; perhaps of that Mount Thom area. William McCulloch d. 1869 'West River, aged 87 years', Pictou Co. Q 1. Anyone know if a Fraser family lived in Mount Thom, Pictou Co, in the late 1700s / early 1800s? William McCulloch might have settled in Mount Thom because his wife Mary Fraser might have been of that place [but Mary Fraser might possibly be of Hants Co]. Mary Fraser of Pictou Co or Hants Co is my brick wall... of course, with a name like that. Q 2. Is there a published history of Mount Thom / area that might indicate migration / origins / genealogies of its early settlers? Q 3. Any one have info on the William McCulloch/Mary Fraser family of Mount Thom, Pictou Co, or its allied families of that area? Nine known children.
