The family moved from Canada and they raised their family in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts (US Census 1880: John 29, Louisa 31, William A B 6, Clara 5, Louisa 4, Edith 2, and Robert 1) (US Census 1900: John 45 (inc-49), Louisa 47, Wiliam 26, Edith 22, Robert 21, Laura 16, Annie 12, Inez 10, Lillian 8). At this point, Clara is the only surviving child not living at home.(12 children 8 living). Clara was 25, married to Lemuel Poole by this time and having children of her own. My own grandmother, her only daughter, is named after Louisa's sister Inez H. The 1920 US Census for the family lists: John 60, Louisa 59, Anna 22, Inez 20, and Lillian 19. (these three plus Laura are the "children" born after the move to the USA) I haven't found much info on her ancestors-the records seem to be hard to find from that area online, but I do know that Clara married Lemuel Poole who had immigrated from PEI Canada. They had 8 children- one who died as an infant, Herbert, George, Charles, Frederick, Joseph, Inez H, and Albert. Inez Hope married Frederick Chesley Ricketts (born in Newfoundland, Canada)and had 7 children who are my mother, aunts and uncle.
