    3. Greetings: My search is for male descendants of onr Donald Cameron, a Lt/Captain in 78th Regiment on the Plains of Abraham. He had a Land Grant in Pictou , near Stellarton, according to Military information. He was on the Hector Ship's list, 1773 with wife, Mary, Children, John, Hugh and Mary. There seems to be a mix-up of Donald Camerons and I am trying to untangle same.He was listed as dying 1816 while on 1/2 pay.I would be pleased to share other in the process. Thank you. 3. Hello, I hope someone can help me with my CAMERON ancestors. My g-g-g-grandfather, John "Red" Cameron, was born in Scotland in 1799, and entered Canada (Pictou, NS) in 1806. He subsequently married Margaret??, who was born NS ca 1807, and had 2 sons born in NS - Donald in 1826 and David in 1830. This family then moved from Pictou to the Miramichi area of NB about 1831, and I can follow them from this point on, but early history is a mystery. They were farmers and lumbermen. Who were John "Red" Camerons parents, and where did they come from in Scotland?? Who was John's wife? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
