    3. Appleton Buckler Dalhousie West-On Monday last, there passed away at Dalhousie West. Appleton Buckler, one of the most highly and widely esteemed residents of that place. Born there seventy years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Buckler, it was his home until his illness, from which he has suffered more or less for a long time, and acutely for the last four months, finally defeated every attention and care. He is survived by his wife, Mary; by one son, Ernest, of Toronto; by three daughters. (Nellie) Mrs. Herald Buckler of Dalhousie; (Olive) Mrs. Raymond Rice of Kentville: Mona, at home; and by an only brother and in-separable companion, Norman, of Dalhousie. The interment took place on Thursday afternoon at the beautiful Anglican cemetery on the hillside facing Lake Clear and adjoining All Saint's Church, where the service was conducted by Rev. J. D. Townshend, who gave a well-chosen message to the bereaved. The hymns sung were, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," "Lead Kindly Light," and "Abide With Me." The large attendance, (despite adverse weather and road conditions) and the floral tributes attested clearly to the high regard- in which the deceased was held, wherever he was known. The flowers were: Family, pillow; Norman, Lizzie, Arthur and Hilda, basket; Jack, Gertrude, Lillian and Ronnie, wreath; Sam, Annie. Ruby, Kenneth, Aubrey, spray; Kathleen and DeBlois, spray; Alma and Carmen, spray; Josie, Charlie, Laura and Laurence, spray; Ern, Isabelle, spray; Arch, Annie, spray; Chas. Todd and family, Thos. Todd and family, spray; Ed. and Lydia, spray; Emma, Nellie and John, spray; Norman Cummings and family, spray; Lina and Hattie, spray; Percy and Ruth, wreath; Everett, wreath; Margaret, spray; Annie and Hartley, spray; Avard and Laura, spray; Milledge Rice and family, spray. Mr. Buckler was a man of wide interests and of comprehensive and ambitious intelligence. Above all he leaves in a life record, constantly shaped by a character naturally strong and of complete integrity and perpetuated in the memories of his many friends, a monument than which none other is so invaluable or permanent.
