This building is still in Riverton, outside of Stellarton. It is now called Riverview Home and is home to challenged adults. When I was young, my mother used to take the Brownies and Guides there every Christmas to entertain the residents. We always had a Candlelight Service at church, so we would do all the singing parts as well as carolling, and of course brought them all Christmas presents and lunch. It certainly taught us to appreciate how fortunate we all were, and to learn to have empathy for those not as fortunate in life.My mom told me when she was in nurse's training at the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing(she graduated in 1940) they did their Psychiatric Training part at the home in Riverton.
