What denomination were they?? The Catholic church kept baptisimal and marriage records as did the Anglican, Lutheran and Presbyterian, However the Baptist church does not practice child baptism and did not keep particularly good records of marriages. Some ministers did, which is why in the archives you may find "Marriages performed by Rev_____" not "Marriages performed at _______Baptist Church".
