Hello RICK and BESSIE: Questions: 1. Did your JOHN C. FRASER, son of CHARLES FRASER and CHRISTENA CAMERON, have a sister, CHRISTENA F. FRASER (1864-1938) married to JOHN DAVID MCNAUGHTON (1858-1938)? 2. Did CHARLES FRASER and CHRISTENA CAMERON have other children? 3. Do you have any vitals dates/places for CHARLES FRASER and CHRISTENA CAMERON? Thanks, BILL DORGAN > > Hello, > > Any chance someone might have any knowledge or record of an obituary for John C. Fraser of Westville? He was a son of Charles Fraser and Christena Cameron, born in 1844 at Island East River but lived most of his life in Westville. His first marraiage was to Janet Anderson, and third marriage was to a Margaret Muir of Eureka or Hopewell in 1906. A newspaper article in 1927 stated he was living in Riverton. > > I searched the Nova Scotia Vitals on-line but can't find a death record for him or Margaret (Muir) Fraser. > > Thanks for any help, > Rick MacNeil > ---------------------- > Rick My aunt said he is buried in the Foxbrook Cemetery and she with Alexander Muir, her first husband in St Phillips cemetery in Westville I dont have their obits either and would appreciate them as well.I am not sure if I have a still pic of the tombstone of Margaret my great grandmother but I have a video. > ----------------------- > Rick Margaret Muir d/o John Fraser and Margaret MacDonald died Jan 7 1920 > bessie > ------------------------ > Thanks for the info Bessie. I will see if the Chronicle Herald microfilm at the Toronto Ref library might contain an obit for Margaret Muir. If I remember right, they didn't put much info in that paper from Pictou area during that time. It seemed to be all Halifax and Sydney. I will look at my transcriptions for Foxbrook as well as I will no doubt have that and probably a pic as well. ( I recorded all Frasers gravestones whether related or not.) This weekend is probably not doable to get to the library. I have to travel north to Sudbury for my mothers 83rd birthday... Monday, I scoot back home to buy a new car....hopefully next weekend I can get in to the library.... I will let you know what I find. > > Thanks! > Rick

Hi Bill, The answers are: 1) Yes, although I didn't know Christena, the daughter had middle initial "F".. Do you know what that stands for? 2) Yes, a whole bunch of children. Annie, John, Mary, Margaret, William, Alexander, Jessie, Charles, Simon, James, Christena, and Catherine. 3) Charles Fraser, h/o Christena, b. Jan. 1815 at Island East River, d. 02 July, 1893 at Westville. Christena, b. 24 Oct. 1821 but don't know where, died in 1904, according the gravestone. The PCGHS index had a card stating that her obit was in their records, but the record cannot be found..... Are you related to this family?
