I knew him very well. And Mrs. Lent too. Actually he came back to teach at the age of 70 and taught me in Grade 9. Or at least tried to teach us!!! Many he had then he also had taught their parents. Mrs. Lent is buried at Holy Name Cemetery and F.I. is buried at Auburn Cemetery. he never changed churches and in fact, sang in the choir for years at St. Paul United Church. My mom wrote the local news for Westville for many years, and Dad would call Mrs. Lent and she would give all the news from their family- who had been visiting, etc. We had "sort of a connection" with them- Dad's first cousin's wife, Jennie Campbell, was Muriel Lent's sister-in-law. Lena married Allan Campbell from town (I am pretty sure it was Allan). In small towns there are lots of connections!! Actually Lena Lent Campbell's two daughters-in-law went to high school with me! I could take some pictures for you- will call someone I know connected with Holy Name to get an idea where Mrs. Lent's headstone is- and I know where his is in at Auburn cemetery. Never heard of any other Lent families in this area. Take care. Diane, thank you very much for sharing the LENT family information with me. Although I never met Frank or Catherine [known as Cassie in the family] over the years Cassie always remembered her sister Alice's [my mother] family. Whenever there was a wedding in the family we could count on Cassie to send a telegram of congratulations. We knew her son Frankie and daugher Alice Romayne very well as they often visited us in our Detroit, MI home. In your note you mention Jennie Campbell a sister-in-law of Murial [who I didn't know personally but wrote to her from time to time]. Do you know who her husband was or is? What are the names of Lena Lent Campbell's two daughters-in-law and what are their husbands names? About what year would they have been born and do you know how I might get in touch with them....email or snail mail? As far a I know Lena had three boys Alan Jr., William and Alexander and one girl Catherine Jane. I am looking forward to receiving the tombstone pictures. Thank you in advance. By the way I think you will find Frank Jrs. grave with his father. Any other tidbits about the Lents will be appreciated. Best regards, Patrick O'Donnell Brighton, MI ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Hayman" <adhayman@ns.sympatico.ca> To: <can-ns-pictou@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 21, 2010 8:13 AM Subject: Re: [CAN-NS-PICTOU] Holy Name Cemetery - Surname LENT >I knew him very well.
